I debated writing this one, because it’s a bit of brutal truth. Well, at least how I see it.
We have had, in the Scientology ex community, several deaths of prominent outspoken critics of Scientology, in one fashion or another.
First recently we had Mark Plummer, also known as Warrior, then Mike Rinder and, more recently, Becky Bigelow.
I am quite saddened at the loss of these great people who worked so hard to expose Scientology and its abuses.
At the same time, it is truly lovely to see how many people these three have impacted with their work. And they are being grieved, and properly remembered, with funeral services and recognition.
And it reminds me of those still in, like my mother, pictured above.
She is getting up there in years. Does she live in a dream? And I wonder what, if anything, she will be remembered for. Of course there will be things. I am not saying it was all bad, but really, how DOES Scientology remember its longest members? Well, not much. And, as the Beatles song goes, she will be buried along with her name.
Except of course, Scientologists prefer cremation.
But that world, the world of Scientology, does not allow us to openly remember our deceased.
It’s just a body. Like a car that gets old, ya gotta go out and find a newer, younger, healthier model.
I find the attitude of death in Scientology to be heartless and cruel.
But this is how Scientology sees it. But even with all my Scientology training and auditing, I don’t have any idea where we go when we die. Unless I just go with Hubbards idea and have faith in reincarnation.
With all I went through being raised in Scientology, I find it very hard to agree on any Scientology concepts. It’s like I threw out the baby with the bath water. Even though these questions about afterlife hit me recently, I am not in a position to analyze it with any Scientology.
Meh. I don’t know. Have any of my lovely readers figured it out? I’d like to know.
And as Father McKenzie writes the words for a sermon that no-one will hear, the world keeps turning.
And people die, and people are born, and life goes on.
But what for? What does it mean?
Food for thought.
In all the likely hundreds of thousands of years humans have been around I don't see that anyone has found the answer to the question of the afterlife, and whether there is one. Many have claimed to have the answer but each of those claim something different. I found more peace in not looking, or even worrying about it. I'll know or not-know when it happens. Enjoy life as much as you can and leave a positive mark on the world if you can. I love your articles Sunny. They are well written and thoughtful. Best, -Phil
Hey, Sunny 🌞! Happy new year! I'm not certain about what happens either. I just can't get right with the dude in the sky who knows everything...I also know that energy doesn't disappear when we leave our bodies. Does that mean we could become ghosts? I don't discount that. I've seen too many ghost shows to say it's not possible. I think we just change into a different form of energy. My philosophy is to become as good as person as possible and try to make a difference and also life is to be enjoyed. Glad you're working on it. I'm sorry about your mama. Sending love ❤️!
