It’s hard enough for someone raised in an environment with loving parents to discover their own sexuality.

The LGBTQ community has had, and still has, many struggles to gain equality and understanding of who they are, and their place in this world.

Many of my favorite people that I have been lucky enough to meet, call friends or work with in some capacity who are from that community have been just the most wonderful people to be around.

We are all human. Who are we to judge?

Hubbard was quite irresponsible in how he communicated certain things and did not foresee the conflict and consequences of his words, which come down as law to it’s most strict members.

Scientologists, myself included, were raised to believe that we were immortal beings. We had lived before and we would live again. He called these “thetans”. We all knew and understood ourselves to be thetans. We had no gender.

Sea Org members were called “sir” regardless of gender.

Although we were kept separate as far as bathrooms, showers and dormitories, other than that, we were all the same. Children, adults, male and female.

Women did not get the less heavy object to lift, we were just part of the group and everyone put in equally.

In addition to the lack of gender aspect, we were also not our bodies at all. We had no age.

Children were adults in small bodies. Hubbard said so.

And so it was not all that unusual for a child to be having long random conversations with an adult.

And I hate to say this at all, but it’s a truth that must be spoken: if children are adults in small bodies, what does it matter if an innocent relationship goes further?

In a wild interpretation of how Hubbard explains it all, isn’t that right in line with what he says?

As I say, Hubbard was either evil, or completely irresponsible.

This by no means makes it ok to break the law. I am not saying that at all. I am simply pointing out that Hubbard paved the way with his very irresponsible words.

Coupled with bullbait, the communication training that teaches a person to take away ALL of their boundaries, we have disaster ahead for children of Scientology.

In addition to that hot mess, we know that a person needs the time and space to grow up and learn. They need the chance to discover themselves who they are and what they want in life. In Scientology, all of that is completely skipped over and as early as possible, you are put to work.

Without any chance to discover your gender or your identity, how could you know who you are or what you want? Scientology simply doesn’t allow it.

It assumes you can be raised as gender neutral and grow up and be with someone physically of the opposite sex and live ethically ever after.

Anything else is unacceptable.

Damn, it still confuses me.
